Where do you like to read the most?
(submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)
My Answer:

Do I really need words to go with this picture? The beach is where I love reading the most but, of course, I’m only there for a week – sometimes two – each year – for now!
When I’m not at the beach, I can happily read almost anywhere, but I spend the most time reading either in bed or in a comfy chair that sits in the living room.
Where do you like to read the most?

It’s been so crazy around here. I can’t even begin to tell you! Where do I begin? Well, when you work at a non-profit – November and December are all kinds of crazy due to increased need and an increase in the number of donors trying to donate for the year. I’ve been working a lot of hours (for me) and balancing it all has been a challenge but it’ll be over soon. I will be happy for things to return to normal.
Last week, my husband went to the dentist because he had a tooth bothering him some – not a lot, just enough to be annoying. In trying to determine which tooth it was, the dentist managed to create a situation where the tooth became so painful, even drugs weren’t abating it. They wanted him to go to a specialist for a root canal but he couldn’t get an appointment until the 18th 😳. It didn’t even take 24 hours before we agreed that he should get the tooth pulled, so he went back on Friday morning. They tried to pull it but then ended up having to cut it out and the novocaine wasn’t working for him. Needless to say, the whole thing was utterly horrifying. But, I’m happy to report he is a lot better now. He’s still on pain meds but it’s a lot more manageable and getting better every day.
Reading has been nearly impossible with everything going on. Luckily I only had a few arcs for December but I’ve had to beg off most of them for my own sanity. I will be reading my indie books for BBNYA this weekend and then moving on to January ARCs.
I have two more indie book spotlights this weekend and then my posts will return to normal for all of next week!!! Thank you so much for supporting the indie book spotlight posts in all ways. I know the authors appreciate all of it from sharing on Twitter to reading and commenting – everything means so much!
Hope you all have a great weekend!

What a nightmare for situation for your husband!! I’m glad he’s feeling better. I like reading in most places as well, as long as it’s comfortable and not too noisy. 😀
It was completely a nightmare which is the only thing that kept my patience in check when he acted like a jerk because of the pain. 😇
I have a chair in the TV room that’s all mine. Next to it is my charging station and the other side has receptacles for my drinks (coffee, water). It’s my happy place. I listen to most books so my best place for listening is when I’m cleaning the kitchen. I get so absorbed in my book that I don’t even recall the chores.
Wow, your life sounds crazy right now, especially with all you do online. Hang in there and enjoy the holidays, Tessa💜
I guess it’s kind of lucky that a good number of my “blogger friends” have stopped blogging this year. It’s made blog hopping not nearly as time consuming. I don’t think I could have managed otherwise.
I thought it was just me. Our ranks are dwindling and there seems to be a migration to IG.
I hadn’t noticed the migration but I know a lot of people just had life changes (job, marriage, etc.) that made blogging too much. And some had health issues and had to stop. Then there’s Wendy who literally just vanished from everything 🤷🏻♀️. I went ahead and worked on my IG account because I thought the blog was pretty stable and then it just wasn’t. 🤦🏻♀️
Same is happening on Goodreads. I miss my old friends who’ve drifted away. There’s a core group of us still hanging on but it’s not the same. I agree…life showed up. A lot changed with the pandemic.
My fave place to read is on my bed in my pj’s, propped up by loads of pillows 🤣
Love lots of pillow! I have 4 pillows that I sleep on of varying degrees of thickness 😂. So I can prop myself up good when I go to read!
So sorry he went through that! Glad he’s feeling better now. I don’t have a dedicated reading space yet but I will when I retire
You are going to love living in the mountains so much!
So sorry to hear about your husband, what an ordeal 😱 My favourite reading spot is out in the garden, when the weather allows it, obviously. But basically anywhere in the house will do 😊
I felt so bad for him! And reading in the garden sounds heavenly.
I’m right beside you on that beach, Tessa. But I can read anywhere – the gym, crowded restaurants, airports, ballgames, etc. Blocking out the noise is my super power. So sorry to hear about your husband, but very glad to hear the pain is gone. Hope this month goes better for you!
I just need a chance to breath. I feel like I have one too many balls in the air atm. I just keep reminding myself that it’s only temporary. Christmas will be here before we know it and then I stress over that 😂
There are two places I like to read. One is a bath filled with bubbles, the door closed, and to read my book without interruption. The other is last thing at night, but I do tend to fall asleep.
Reading at night has a way of making one tired, doesn’t it? And the bath is an excellent place to read and relax!
It is and I can read in peace.
Ahhh….the beach and the pool! My two favorite places to read. But like you said—those are limited by the season. Other than that, I read every night in bed before going to sleep, so I would say that is my “go to” place.
I’m so sorry to hear what your husband went through—that’s dreadful! So glad he is on the mend now! 🙂
I felt horrible for him. I would have been a mess!
So sorry to hear about your husband. What a nightmare! I hope he is feeling better now and I hope things slow down and you have relaxing time.
Me too! ☺️
