Brief Description

Sadie and Will Foust have only just moved their family from bustling Chicago to small-town Maine when their neighbor, Morgan Baines, is found dead in her home. The murder rocks their tiny coastal island, but no one is more shaken than Sadie, who is terrified by the thought of a killer in her very own backyard. As the eyes of suspicion turn toward the new family in town, Sadie is drawn deeper into the mystery of Morgan’s death. But Sadie must be careful, for the more she discovers about Mrs. Baines, the more she begins to realize just how much she has to lose if the truth ever comes to light.

My Thoughts

I have seen a lot of people posting about this book lately, so I’m hoping the hype is sincere. It has definitely made me excited that the publisher contacted me and asked me to review it. I’m just starting this book, so I will soon find out!

Temperatures rise as she throws herself into village life and with mischief and shenanigans aplenty, Hattie has her work cut out. But will she establish the truth?

My Thoughts

This book is awesome, amazing, and you must get it when it comes out! But seriously, it is an delightful English cozy that is both modern and engaging. I loved it in a 5 star kind of way. 😊

Hard-boiled Mystery
The review will be posted on 2/20/20

Book Description

In all their years working for the Baywood police department, detectives A.L. McKittridge and Rena Morgan have never seen anything like it. Four women dead in forty days, each killed ten days apart. With nothing connecting the victims and very little evidence, the clock is already counting down to when the next body drops. A.L. and Rena will have to act fast if they’re going to find the killer’s next victim before he does. But identifying the killer’s next likely target is only half the battle. With pressure pushing in from all sides, a promising breakthrough leads the detectives to Tess Lyons, a woman whose past trauma has left her too damaged to appreciate the danger she’s in. Unwilling to let another woman die, A.L. and Rena will put everything on the line to keep Tess safe and end the killer’s deadly spree once and for all—before time runs out again.

My Thoughts

It’s funny – one week, three mysteries and each of them vastly different sub-genres. Ten Days Gone is a new hard-boiled series, and I’m curious what kind of read it will turn out to be.

I’m actually going to finish it today – I’m having trouble putting it down. The only reason that I stepped away now is because the cats let me know that having to wait any longer for their lunch was totally unacceptable 🙀

Muahaha cats are like that. So demanding. Don’t they understand you have words to read?! I’m glad you ended up enjoying it so much.
