The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to their own blog.
Question:
Do you read books that have an autumn theme?
(submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)
Answer:
I don’t seek out books with an autumn theme, and not many thrillers or fantasies that I can think of have seasonal themes or covers. Sometimes I read a cozy mystery or a romcom with a seasonal theme, but it’s just a coincidence and not the reason I’m reading it.
Now it’s your turn – do you read books that have an autumn theme?

Nopes. Most of my thrillers have killing theme. I rarely pay attention to weather
Me too. Thrillers don’t often go seasonal.
I don’t think I have ever chosen a book with regard to any particular season, although I have a preference for freezing, snow-filled scenarios.
That’s interesting. Seasonal is just a fun happenstance with the books I choose.
I really don’t read any books based on a theme. I’m a mood reader who loves series so genres, favorite authors and continuing characters drive my reading choices generally.
Authors and genres dictate my reads too. Seasonal is just a happenstance.
Can’t say I do. I just read whatever’s up on the TBR.
Yeah, I’m usually a season ahead reading ARCs.
I’m the same as you Tessa, I just read what I fancy whatever the season.
Sometimes I choose a Christmas story because it’s Christmas but no other season.
I do sometimes read holiday-centered/themed books–like Halloween and Christmas–but that is the extent of my seasonal reading. There are certain genres I associate with certain times of year more than others, but I wouldn’t say those books have a specific seasonal theme. I have a friend who reads wintery weather books in the summer when it’s hot and summery books in the winter when it’s cold. She says it helps her cool down or warm up, depending on her goal. 🙂
I hope you have a great weekend!
That’s interesting reasoning. I should try it. Summers in NC can get intensely hot. Enjoy your weekend!
Sometimes I’ll read a book with a Halloween theme, but that’s as close as I come to seeking out a novel set during a specific season (same with holiday reads). I do, however, love when the season is front and center in the story. I remember reading a 900+ page book with a winter setting in the high heat of July and I FELT that cold. When an author can transport a reader like that it’s something special.
I’m going to have to try that next summer and in reverse this winter. I’ve seen a number of people talk about reading the season opposite of the one they are in because it makes them feel warmer/cooler. I’m in ☺️
It is definitely a cool experience!
Me? No, not on purpose, I don’t. Not that I mind the season. In fact it is my favorite, but… I’ve never chosen a book because it felt like it had an autumn theme to it.
It’s my favorite season too! I wonder how many people do because I haven’t found any yet ☺️

I don’t seek out autumn themes either, Tessa. Though I did read The Enchantment of Ravens which had a seasonal theme and the Prince of Autumn. If that one is in your TBR, it’s definitely worth a read. 🙂
I will have to look at them. I’m intrigued 😊
I prefer to read books of the genre- historical fiction or non-fiction and mystery books! Even romance books are really quite fun to read in between.🌸 I never chose to read by a particular theme!🤭
Sometimes I like a Christmas themed book near Christmas but that’s the extent of my seasonal reading ❤️
Oh yes! Those are good❤️ I even tend to watch movies based on Christmas during Dec😂😂😂
