Monday’s Musings | October Wrap-Up and NaNoWriMo

Back to Two Book Reviews/Week

No review today! I’m going back to just two book reviews per week except on rare occasions. I am actually posting 4 reviews this week but the rest of month and year is two reviews per week with maybe one or two exceptions. I am going to take the extra time and work on my writing, and I will go back to a bookish discussion type post on either Sundays or Mondays.

October’s Favorite Book

I picked The House Mate by Nina Manning as my favorite this month.

It was a very hard choice. As you will see below, I reviewed some amazing books this month. I picked The House Mate because it was such a surprise ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read for me. And it was the most surprising ending I have ever read.

October Reviews

I posted 17 reviews this month: 8 fantasy, 5 mysteries, 3 romcoms, and 1 classical historical fiction, plus WWW Wednesday posts every Wednesday and Book Blogger Hop posts every Friday:

Mystery

Fantasy / Sci-Fy

Romcoms and Historical Fiction

Oct. NetGalley Book Haul

NaNoWriMo 2020

I had a moment of panic when I realized that Scrivener on my laptop was no longer linked to Scrivener on my iPad. It took me forever to figure out how to link them last year and I started to form a huge headache over the prospect of having to start that process over. I wrote over 50,000 words on the novel last year but I still have 7 scenes that I need to write, a plot review/edit, and then a normal edit.

I finally hit just the right link and all my work came flooding back into my laptop. Yay! That is my IT style: dumb luck 😊

If you are also doing NaNoWriMo and would like a “buddy”, you can find me under TPulyer. I always love more buddies ❤️

Oct.’s Most Popular Instagram Post

Interestingly, this was my most popular instagram post in October. With the most likes and comments. Though my posts for Love Your Life made the most impressions.

Thank you! It was quite a marathon but my reading schedule looks much more manageable now.

That’s quite the NetGalley haul! Enjoy them all💜 Congrats on solving that IT issue…I suspect there’s more going on than you just being lucky…smart deductions I’ll bet😏

I suppose there is some logic involved. I haven’t blown up a computer yet but I always imagine I’m professional IT people’s worst nightmare- a person who knows just enough to make the situation even more than they can fix. 😝
The NetGalley haul is crazy. It’s a mixture of Harlequin Trade blog tours where the books come in large bursts and Wednesday Books going… hmmm…we approved Namesake for you now check out these other fantasies that we put on “read now” for two days only. I had actually gotten to over 80%. Now not so much🤷🏻‍♀️

Good luck on NaNoWriMo!! I’m glad you got your Scrivener issues figured out—I’m sure that was stressful!

That’s quite some books you read in October! And your Netgalley bookhaul looks quite impressive as well 🙂
Good luck with NaNoWriMo; I’m not participating this year, but perhaps next one I join the party. And syncing Scrivener on all your devices can indeed be tricky 😛

    1. Tessa Avatar

It definitely is. I ended up having to reinstall Windows which means I lost the sync, I think. I haven’t checked yet. Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a wonderful week 😊
