#BookBloggerHop | Tapping Book Pages

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to their own blog.

If you read a print book after reading a few e-books, do you find yourself tapping the bottom of the page so it will turn?

(submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews

The short answer is no.

I do however find myself frustrated for not being able to highlight names and pertinent sections that I might want to go back to before writing my review. And wishing it was lighted at night 🙂

Do you have any attributes from an e-book that you wish print books had or do you finding yourself tapping pages of print books like you do e-books?

That’s such a fascinating question! I never find myself doing that, mostly because I don’t get to read print books often. When I do, though, I relish turning those pages because it beats furiously and angrily tapping my Kindle to try to turn the page.

Me too. I love turning pages ❤️

I have been known to tap the page of a paperback, wondering why it wouldn’t turn, then realising and laughing at myself 🙈😂 When I’m reading on paper, I usually also have an ebook on the go for all those instances where reading digitally is just so much easier, like in bed.

Lol. I’ve been known to buy both versions of a book just for that reason. Fortunately for my budget, I don’t do it often❤️

I do this all the time! It’s hilarious, and slightly embarrassing if I think I’ve been seen by someone! 😂

Lol! They would probably just be confused to try to explain your actions to themselves.

I prefer reading books than e books. I guess I’m just a little old fashioned that way. I was brought an e book, but I’m addicted to turning the page.

I used to be that way too. I finally embraced an ebook when I realized I could take a whole series of books with me on vacation in just one little device. That was a game changer for me. ❤️

True, I might treat myself to a kindle.

I enjoy reading print books more. In fact I turn pages faster and to solve the highlighting text I use pencil and as for the night, I sometimes read book under torch light.

I used to be solely a print book person and even had one of those little lights you can hang on books 😊. My husband finally sold me on ebooks when I realized how many books I could take on vacation with me in such a little package.

I absolutely do. Just in the past couple months I was reading a print book, which I rarely do anymore, and tapped the page to turn it, lol.

Lol. I can see how it would be easy to forget and do 😊

I’ve borrowed a few ebooks from the library and it drove me mad that I couldn’t highlight passages or look up words. I think physical books just feel too different for me to confuse them.

I need to highlight! Lol. It drives me insane when I can’t.

I can honestly say that I have never done this haha! I read more print books than ebooks typically but even when I have gone through a period of reading a lot on the kindle and then going back to a paper book it has never happened… yet anyway!

Me either. I think it’s because I hold them differently. The ebook I hold with one hand and my thumb at the ready whereas print books, I hold with both hands with my index finger near the top corner ready to flip the page.

I finally read a print book after reading over 100 ebooks, and while I didn’t tap the bottom of the book like a kindle, I did have trouble with the print. I’m so used to being able to enlarge the print on the Kindle, that I kept trying to enlarge the print in the physical book! But, I dug out my old book light, and that helped a lot and I really enjoyed reading the print book.

Oh, I agree about not being able to adjust the size. But there is something magical about print books. I’ve had the opportunity to read and review two lately and I loved it. Though the note taking was a bit problematic.

I’m in the minority here! I only read eBooks or listen to audiobooks. Made the transition about ten years ago. If I held a print book, I’m sure I’d be tapping the pages🥰

    1. Lady Tessa Avatar

It would definitely be different for you after so long ❤️

I don’t read a lot of print books anymore and the main reason is print size. I love that I can make the print bigger on my tablet. When I get a print book from the library, I really try to get large print if possible. I do not tap the corner to flip the page in actual books though.

I’m totally with you there. I find my glasses are almost always on my face any more. 🤓

I’ve never done this either – I could totally see myself doing this if I was sleep deprived though!

Now, that I could see too. ❤️
