The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to their own blog.

Do you acknowledge publication days for books you have read with a blog or social media post?
(submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews)

I do NOT create a post solely to acknowledge publication days of books that I have read.
Instead, I publish the reviews of those books as close to the publication day as I can. My picture on Instagram usually corresponds with the review I posted on the blog. So, I give books exposure on or near their publication date just as a rule of my scheduling process. I guess that’s why I have never felt it necessary to do a special publication day post. I’m not sure it’s best to do things the way I do, so I’d love to hear what you do regarding publication days and why you choose that.

I try to post my review a week before the publishing date and then do a follow up post on the publishing date, I have stopped doing this for the blog tour books so much though, as it was getting confusing 😊
I can see where it could get confusing.
Bar blog tours, I do what you do and schedule my reviews shortly before, after or on publication date. If there are two different publication dates (usually ebook / hardcover with the paperback to follow a few months later), I may reshare my review on Twitter on the second pub date (if I remember, that is 🙊😅) but I don’t do another blog post.
You are better than me because I would never remember.
If I see a post telling me about a book I read it. I have posted reviews on the books I read, and I think it always helps the book get more coverage, even if it hasn’t been recently posted.
The more coverage, the better, I think too ❤️
I tend to do the same as you. I’ll also try to tweet or retweet over on twitter to help with exposure.
I think that’s a brilliant idea!
I usually do the same and schedule reviews for around the time the book is published. I do give the date of publication in my review.
I’ve been trying to remember to give the publication date lately. I think that’s helpful too ❤️
very rarely! I even don’t manage to review books near publication day with everything going on in life. But sometimes I post bliz or review if I was asked and if I have enough time to read book by publication date.
I can totally understand that 🤗
When I commit to a tour or publishing a review on or near the release date, that’s the extent of what I do. I rarely do a separate release date announcement unless an author reaches out and makes the request. Several of my Indie authors have asked in the past but not often. I leave the release day flash to the publishers/promoters. There’s something squishy about me joining in unless I have personal desire to promote a beloved author.
That’s what I tend to do too ❤️
Same here. I try to post my reviews close to the pub date, but I don’t do special posts when they release. These days I’m just struggling to finish the book by the pub date!
Tell me about it! I ended up DNFing Sundial because I couldn’t handle the animal cruelty – there was so much.😢 But that did make it easier to fit in the book that fell through the cracks, before March 1st.
I came close. I skimmed through several pages. I mentioned in my review that if there had been any indication of that in the description, I probably would have passed on the book.
I do it just like you. I try to post the review about a week prior to the publication date.
I try to publish the review within a week of the book release – I think prolonged online exposure is more beneficial than a huge amount of activity just on one day.
