What Am I Reading This Week – March 16, 2022? #WWWWednesday #amreading #CurrentlyReading

The Lying Club by Annie Ward started off with a bang but that’s as far as I’ve read. It’s gotten a lot of good reviews, so fingers-crossed!

  • Genre: Psychological Thriller
  • Pages: 402 pages
  • Publisher: Park Row Books (Harlequin Trade)
  • Publication Date: March 22, 2022
“If you loved Big Little Lies and Little Fires Everywhere, allow me to introduce you to your next obsession. —Kim Liggett, New York Times bestselling author of The Grace Year. A tangled web of lies draws together three women in this explosive thriller of revenge, murder and shocking secrets. At an elite private school nestled in the Colorado mountains, Natalie, an office assistant, dreams of having a life like the school moms she deals with every day. Women like Brooke—a gorgeous heiress, ferociously loving mother and serial cheater—and Asha, an overprotective mom who suspects her husband of having an affair. Their fates are bound by the handsome assistant athletic director Nicholas, whom Natalie loves, Brooke wants and Asha needs. But when two bodies are carried out of the school one morning, it seems the tension between mothers and daughters, rival lovers, and the haves and have-nots has shattered the surface of this isolated, affluent town—where people stop at nothing to get what they want.

If you all haven’t figured it out yet, I just adore thrillers with a dose of humor and that is exactly what The Recovery Agent by Janet Evanovich, the first book in a new series, brings. More on it next week, but it was an entertaining read from start to finish.

  • Genre: Adventure Thriller
  • Pages: 314 pages

#1 New York Times bestselling author Janet Evanovich returns with the launch of a blockbuster new series that blends wild adventure, hugely appealing characters, and pitch-perfect humor, proving once again why she’s “the most popular mystery writer alive” (The New York Times). Lost something? Gabriela Rose knows how to get it back. As a recovery agent, she’s hired by individuals and companies seeking lost treasures, stolen heirlooms, or missing assets of any kind. She’s reliable, cool under pressure, and well trained in weapons of all types. But Gabriela’s latest job isn’t for some bamboozled billionaire, it’s for her own family, whose home is going to be wiped off the map if they can’t come up with a lot of money fast. Inspired by an old family legend, Gabriela sets off for the jungles of Peru in pursuit of the Ring of Solomon and the lost treasure of Lima. But this particular job comes with a huge problem attached to it—Gabriela’s ex-husband, Rafer. It’s Rafer who has the map that possibly points the way to the treasure, and he’s not about to let Gabriela find it without him. Rafer is as relaxed as Gabriela is driven, and he has a lifetime’s experience getting under his ex-wife’s skin. But when they aren’t bickering about old times the two make a formidable team, and it’s going to take a team to defeat the vicious drug lord who has also been searching for the fabled ring. A drug lord who doesn’t mind leaving a large body count behind him to get it. The Recovery Agent marks the start of an irresistible new series that will have you clamoring for more and cheering for the unstoppable Gabriela Rose on every page.

I can see why I took on Remember Me by Estelle Laure – the scify element intrigued me. Early reviews have been quite mixed though, so we will see how it goes for me.

  • Genre: YA Chick Lit/Contemporary
  • Pages: 269 pages
  • Publisher: Wednesday Books (St. Martin’s Press)
  • Publication Date: March 22, 2022
Remember Me is an astonishingly bold young adult novel from Estelle Laure, the critically acclaimed author of This Raging Light and Mayhem If you could erase all of your painful memories, would you? Blue Owens wakes up one day with the strangest feeling that something is very wrong. Everyone’s acting weird and she’s found a note in her closet telling her to get on the Little Blue Bus at 7:45, which she does, meeting up with the exact person she was supposed to avoid: Adam Mendoza. Even though she has no idea who he is, something about him is so familiar. When she confronts him, the truth is revealed—Blue has paid to have her memories removed, and Adam is one of those memories. As Blue struggles to piece together her history, she is torn between her desire to know why she would do something so drastic and her fear of what she will find. Remember Me is the bold and beautiful story of a girl who must find the courage to face the demons of her past and reclaim her loved ones—even if it ruins her.

Definitely intrigued by Remember Me. It reminds me that film with Jim Carey and Kate Winslet, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

I’ve never read Evanovitch, and it’s really just due to lack of time. I think my dad keeps up with her series. I’m read City of Dusk by Tara Sims. Didn’t realize it’s a little over 500 pages, and now I’m in a time crunch with the rest of my March books from NG.

This is actually a new series by Janet Evanovich. I really like it. Your dad may too.
