Dread Wood was so good. The action and thrills started in the very beginning and it didn’t let up. The plot is complex. It’s a very good MG thriller that only took me 1 day to read.

I’m loving it so far but I can see where it might get more intense before hopefully a happy ending.
Dread Wood looks like a great MG book. I would have certainly loved something like that when I was a kid, and Pay Dirt Road sounds like something that should be on my TBR.

Dread Wood sounds like someone watched The Breakfast Club and wondered what it would be like if it had been in the horror genre. (So, of course, that appeals to me.) i enjoyed Mare of Easttown, so that comp in your description of Pay Dirt Road caught my eye, too. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on these.
I just finished (and loved) the Deep Ops series by Rebecca Zanetti and I’m not sure what I’m going to read next. (I wish there were more in this series, but I’ll have to wait for the next one. I may start another series by her, but I have a bursting Kindle that I’ve been neglecting.)
Ooo…that series sounds excellent. And that’s a good comparison for Dread Wood… funny but good.
I’m looking forward to Pay Dirt Road, too (okay, the cover got me). Right now I’m listening to Cold-Hearted Rake and loving it. Reminds me why Lisa Kleypas is one of my favorite authors.

It’s such a good MG story. Not cute like many are for that age group. But, thrilling from start to finish.
I picked up a book called ”A Crooked . . . not sure of the title it is upstairs, but it is about a girl who has sold magic in a market since she was a child. During the day it is little tricks like happiness, and luck. At night it is not so legal. She wants to leave her world behind when she turns eighteen. It is set in a magical world, but it feels real because she is real.
I love magic! This sounds so good 😊

I really enjoyed it. It’s funny, when I read over some other reviews, I realized I loved it for one of the very reason most people complained about it. Go figure ❤️
