The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to their own blog.
Have you taken a look at the website and app Litsy?

Because of this question, yes I went and looked at Litsy. You have to create an account to look at it. Then, from there, you really only have a few options. You can post just a picture, a picture with a review, or a picture with a comment. So, it’s sort of like Instagram but the pictures posted aren’t as nice (IMO) and there are only bookish people on it. It doesn’t keep stats like Storygraph or Goodreads and it doesn’t keep a record of what you read like all of the other apps out there. I’ll be honest, I don’t understand the point of it. If you use Litsy, please tell me why you like it and who its target audience is? I’m very curious. I’ve included a few photos of what it looks like and your options:
Have you looked at or used Litsy? What is your favorite website/app to use?
As for my favorite app or website – well, Goodreads is always my go to. Everything is set up in a way that makes it easy for it to be. But I also try and keep Storygraph updated because I like that it figures out many stats for you. And I still keep Readerly, though I haven’t updated it in a while.

I have never heard of Litsy, but I use Goodreads. I like the stats on storygraph, but I’m really behind so I need to get back up to date on there 😊
I get behind on Storygraph too. I recently risked a second Goodreads import. I think it went okay despite the warnings.
Never even heard of it 🙈😄 I use Goodreads for a general overview of my reading and my own spreadsheet for my stats.
I hadn’t either til this question came up. Your spreadsheets are wonderful. I’ve tried to keep my own but I can never get it to become consistent.
I’ve never heard of Litsy before now and this is also quite a specific question for the book blogger hop (or at least, more specific than the other topics I’ve seen people do before)! 😂 Although I have StoryGraph, Goodreads is still my go-to because of how easily it links to my Kindle. It’s just so convenient! Great post.
I thought so too about the specificity. Maybe the creator of the question is looking for more friends on litsy 🤷🏻♀️. I figured out the WP wiped you off of my short list of blogs I look at each day. I don’t think it’s ever done that before. So frustrating.
I totally agree with you!! I got Litsy about 2 years ago? I hardly ever open it bc it’s not as user friendly and it’s very specific. I can’t remember the last time I posted? Maybe a few months ago! lol
I just don’t understand the why of it. Sometimes an app says the why, but I couldn’t find that either 😊
Never heard of it and based on your experience, have no interest. It’s weird that you have to first join before figuring out what you’re joining. Goodreads is my go to place for all things bookish.

I just use GR. Listy sounds interesting, but I don’t think I have a need for it.

I’ve heard of Litsy, but never checked it out. I’m happy with Goodreads, and most of my friends seem to use that app also.
Litsy just doesn’t have any added value that I could see.
I’d never heard of Litsy, Tessa, or Storygraph. They sound like interesting apps. I tend to stick with Goodreads and to a lesser degree Bookbub. That’s where I post reviews in addition to Amazon. Interesting question.
I like StoryGraph for the graphs of different aspects of my reading and you can import your books from GoodReads which is nice. Litsy, I just don’t understand the value.
That’s interesting about StoryGraph. Since I read a bit of variety, I’d be interested in the stats. Importing makes it very easy. 🙂
I have never heard of Litsy, and it doesn’t sound like an app that I would use. I use Goodreads for reviews, TBR list, information about my books such as who recommended it, genres, where I got it etc.
Goodreads is the go to app for sure.
I’ve never used Litsy, but I used to go on Goodreads, but not anymore, as I was trolled. I wasn’t the only one, and there were posts from other authors saying exactly the same thing that happened to me. They weren’t very good at dealing with the situation where people had set up fake profiles.
That’s awful! I’ve had some sketchy accounts try to friend me (and of course I didn’t let that happen) but I’ve been lucky to not be trolled. People, sometimes, I just don’t know what gets into them.
I haven’t heard about it before and nor I’m interested from what you said. I think I’ll put my energy to managing blog, twitter and Instagram that already taks lots of time
