Do you post every day on your blog and/or social media?  #BookBloggerHop #bookish #discussionpost

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to their own blog.

Do you post every day on your blog and/or social media?

(submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews)

Currently, I post on my blog every day but Saturday, and I post on Instagram Mon-Fri. I would like to be able to take the weekend off from the blog, like I do with Instagram, but I kind of like the Sunday Post.

I also looked at taking off on the days I work – which is Monday and Wednesday. It is possible. I could always add what I’m reading this week to my Sunday post and move my Monday review to Saturday. I’ll have to give that more thought though.

Do you post every day on your blog and/or social media? Or do you feel that it’s important to take a break?

I don’t. I used to but in the last eight months I am more laid back. I post when I have time.

    1. Tessa @TessaTalksBooks Avatar

Laid back sounds very good. I’m sure I will get to that point too.

  2. Jenny Mcclinton Avatar

I think I need to start taking a break more as I post every day at the moment 😊

    1. Tessa @TessaTalksBooks Avatar

You do! Everyone needs a bit of a break.

  3. Kelly Avatar

I try to post no more than 2 or 3 times a week on my blog, I mostly tweet about blog posts, and I always forget about Instagram, I really suck at this 😂 For years, October has been the month I post every day because it’s my annual Orenda Books celebration, #Orentober, but it wipes me out every time.

    1. Tessa @TessaTalksBooks Avatar

That would kill me too, even though it’s just one extra day for me. It’s still an extra day, you know?

      1. Kelly Avatar

I know, it’s all so time-consuming and at one point it stops being fun and starts being a chore, and what with work and the household and the garden, I have enough chores already 😂

  4. nickimags @ Secret Library Book Blog Avatar

I all depends if I have anything to say! 😂 Sometimes I post more days and other times I just do my WWW post and a review. I certainly used to blog a whole lot more, but I’ve chilled out a bit, so don’t feel the need to post everyday.

    1. Tessa @TessaTalksBooks Avatar

Chilling out is a good thing and I imagine I’ll get there too.

  5. Jonetta | Blue Mood Café Avatar

I used to post everyday except Sunday. Now that real life has shown up in a tough way, I’m lucky to get three days in since my reading has been impacted. It’s still my goal to post at least four days a week, which would mirror my reading goals.

I’m in awe of you posting on two platforms. I’m only on Goodreads and my blog.

    1. Tessa @TessaTalksBooks Avatar

Real life does that, unfortunately. Hope you and hubby are both doing okay or at least still on that road to being yourself again.

I usually post M, T, W, and Th with the occasional Friday on my blog. I’d like to post every day on Instagram, but it usually doesn’t happen. I try to give myself the weekends off.

    1. Tessa @TessaTalksBooks Avatar

I took this weekend off, whereas I normally only get Saturday off, and it made a huge difference.

I try to post everyday on my blog, but not all are reviews. I don’t stress if I miss a day. Somedays, I post more than once, it depends if I am behind in posting reviews. Either way, I post when I have something to say and don’t worry about it. I do not use instagram much at all, but my blog posts do cross post to twitter. I think it depends on what is going on in our lives. I do worry if someone I follow doesn’t post for a long time though, I miss their posts.

    1. Tessa @TessaTalksBooks Avatar

I notice when people don’t post for a while too. It does get worrisome. And, I’ve loved seeing your Florida pictures on IG. It looks like your having such a good time 💕

      1. Carla Avatar

Thanks Tessa. I’m going to try to do a post on here with some of the highlights when I get home.

I don’t post every day. I have enough of a time posting about every other day as it is. I really want my blog to be more reviews than fillers, and because I read slowly, that wouldn’t be the case. But I have one blogging friend who posts not just every day, but at least one post a day! I don’t know how she does it. Sometimes she puts up three or four in one day!

    1. Tessa @TessaTalksBooks Avatar

I know some like that too and I just couldn’t manage that, I don’t think.

      1. Davida Chazan Avatar

I won’t tell her, but… it can get annoying to go through ALL her posts, each. and. every. day! Now I just choose one and read that one.

        1. Tessa @TessaTalksBooks Avatar

that’s a good way to do it.

  9. CJRTB Books Avatar

I post everyday on Bookstagram but don’t comment on posts on a Saturday to give me some quality me and family time. I try and post on my blog every other day but again, I don’t blog hop on a Saturday! ❤️❤️

    1. Tessa @TessaTalksBooks Avatar

It’s all about balance plus we need to leave time to actually read the books, right? 😂

  10. Books Teacup and Reviews Avatar

Nope! I try to post 5 days a week on Instagram but end up with only 4 and often 3 posts per week. For blog I try to post every alternate day leaving weekends off but I often publish only 2 post instead of intended 3 posts. I’m really moody and half the time I don’t have time. Everyday posts feels a lot now.

    1. Tessa @TessaTalksBooks Avatar

I couldn’t do every day either,

  11. beeverse19 Avatar
    beeverse19

I don’t but because if I do it everyday, I would end up taking it too seriously instead of doing it for fun and I know I would get tired of it. I prefer to post around 3 times a week

    1. Tessa @TessaTalksBooks Avatar

      That is very true. 💕

  12. writerravenclaw Avatar

I post most days, but word prompts, rather than my own posts. Every so often I post a review.

    1. Tessa @TessaTalksBooks Avatar

Book reviews are the hardest kind of posts, I think, because they take so much time and thought.

      1. Kim Avatar

Hmm… I’ve been finding book review posts the easiest to do lately – but then I’ve only recently added book reviews to my blog, and generally I write long, involved disabiltiy advocacy posts, so… by comparison, I suppose the book reviews *are* easy. Especially since I’ve decided to create them mostly in bullet points. And I have a template for filling in the essentials about what the book is.

  13. Writergurlny Avatar

    Most days, yes.

    1. Tessa @TessaTalksBooks Avatar

      That’s wonderful!

  14. susandyer1962 Avatar

I post every day, but am thinking about giving up my good morning posts. I enjoy them and love my blogging friends that check in. But I also worry I might be turning people off with those posts since they aren’t book related. Ugh, its not supposed to be this hard!🤷🤗📚💜

    1. Tessa @TessaTalksBooks Avatar

Your good morning posts are great! You can add in what you’re reading that day if you want it to be bookish. Just do what you enjoy ❤️

I post every day on my blog. I’m retired, so it’s easier for me. I sometimes post 2x in one day, but I like to keep it at once a day if possible.

    1. Tessa @TessaTalksBooks Avatar

I try to keep it to once per day too. 💕

  16. BonnieReadsAndWrites Avatar

I work full-time, so I usually post on the blog 3 – 4 times per week. I would like to have more followers on Instagram, but currently don’t have time for all the follow trains and to catch up with everyone’s posts. I do the best I can, and I hope to do better after I retire. I also need to get better at creating posts, reels, and stories.

    1. Tessa @TessaTalksBooks Avatar

IG is a beast. The follow trains are the easy part. There is also engagement groups and comment pods – now they get to be more time consuming 😌

      1. BonnieReadsAndWrites Avatar

Right now I’m going to focus on improving my content and I’ll try the rest of it after I retire

  17. Hooked By That Book Avatar

I definitely don’t. I try to do two reviews a week, sometimes it’s just one, and I have a regular post on Mondays. But at the moment that’s it.

  18. Leslie Avatar

I used to post almost every day before I had a kid. Then it just became impossible. Now, I try to do Tuesday and Wednesday because I love interacting with so many bloggers. I have added in Sunday and sometimes Friday posts. I then just schedule my reviews randomly, haha. I’m sure, I’ll scale back a lot in June when I take some time off.

    1. Tessa @TessaTalksBooks Avatar

I can’t imagine doing this with two young ones, though I did start my first blog when my two were small – not babies but not in school full time. But you taking care of the little ones and getting some rest when you can is much more important than blogging 💕

      1. Leslie Avatar

Oliver has been such a great baby and kiddo. He’s so independent that I’ve been able to do a lot of reading/blogging. I’m sure it will be a huge learning curve soon with the second! lol

        1. Tessa @TessaTalksBooks Avatar

My first was the hard one but my second daughter was always so chill. She still is.

          1. Leslie Avatar

That is actually going to give me some hope. haha. Everyone keeps telling me how crazy the second is. My first is good but he’s WILD and has so much energy! I would be good with a chill second! *crossing fingers*

  19. stargazer Avatar

I am very impressed with your blogging schedule, since I can barely manage one post per week. It’s fine to take a few days off now and then I think, that may prevent you from burning out. But I know you are very organised, which may make it easier.

    1. Tessa @TessaTalksBooks Avatar

I try to balance it between reviews and easier discussion posts, which helps. I also tried not posting this Sunday, and I really liked taking the whole weekend off.

  20. TRAILBLAZER Avatar

Do you post every day on your blog and/or social media? No, I only post during my free time because I am working regularly during week days.

    1. Tessa @TessaTalksBooks Avatar

      That is totally understandable. ❤️

  21. Kim Avatar

I can’t even imagine posting every day! I don’t even aim to post regularly! (Though I know that is recommended). I post as I have the energy and the cognitive resources to do so. Then again, it usually takes me weeks to compose a single (non-book review) post, so… Since I’ve decided to add book reviews (so far only autism, or other disability related books. Primarily nonfiction, with a few kids fiction books tossed in. I may eventually add non-disability diversity books here and there), I’ve started scheduling them for twice a week most of the time. I’ve got such a backlog of ones I’ve wanted to add, and found that’s what the first batch were done in, so I decided to keep that. I skipped a week in late May, as other things demanded my attention, but then I found myself hyperfocusing on it all the other day, so wound up posting, or scheduling a whole bunch. (Some of which are scheduled for this weekend or next week.) Of course, it helps that I can usually put a book review post together in a few days or less (sometimes one day).
