It’s very complex and pulls from African lore, if I remember correctly
I will drop everything and begin listening to Identity as soon as the audiobook comes in. The narrators always are superb for her standalones. Love your review, Tessa💜

I completely agree with everything you said about Identity. It was so realistic, but also chilling.
I really liked Identity too, and I also loved the Mom, Grandmother, and the Vermont setting.
They were my favorite!
