I kept avoiding this Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros because that’s my natural reaction to hype. But it’s about dragons…yes, I said dragons… and if you’ve figured out anything about me, it should be that I love dragons. So, I put myself on the waiting list at the library, which was a good compromise in my mind. It’s come in, and I have to say, I love it! I hope to finish it today and add it to the review post that I’m putting out tomorrow.

Enter the brutal and elite world of a war college for dragon riders from New York Times bestselling author Rebecca Yarros Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away…because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them. With fewer dragons willing to bond than cadets, most would kill Violet to better their own chances of success. The rest would kill her just for being her mother’s daughter—like Xaden Riorson, the most powerful and ruthless wingleader in the Riders Quadrant. She’ll need every edge her wits can give her just to see the next sunrise. Yet, with every day that passes, the war outside grows more deadly, the kingdom’s protective wards are failing, and the death toll continues to rise. Even worse, Violet begins to suspect leadership is hiding a terrible secret. Friends, enemies, lovers. Everyone at Basgiath War College has an agenda—because once you enter, there are only two ways out: graduate or die.

Next, I will read Long Time No Sea by Portia MacIntosh for a blog tour and The Lost Bookshop by Evie Woods, which sounds intriguing.

There’s trouble in paradise… Moving home in her 30s was not the life plan Jas had in mind. So when her best friend gets in touch to say she’s arranging a long overdue reunion with their high school friends, Jas is very much up for the escape. Oh, and it’s all expenses paid to Italy – so that’s a bonus! But while being whisked away to the beautiful Italian coast may seem idyllic, Jas has to come face to face with not only her ex-boyfriend, but the one that got away too! It’s a week of sun, sea and unravelling secrets, and as the love triangle from the past starts to develop once again, this trip is not panning out exactly as Jas imagines… Should the past be left where it is, or could there be a second chance at love on the horizon..?

On a quiet street in Dublin, a lost bookshop is waiting to be found… For too long, Opaline, Martha and Henry have been the side characters in their own lives. But when a vanishing bookshop casts its spell, these three unsuspecting strangers will discover that their own stories are every bit as extraordinary as the ones found in the pages of their beloved books. And by unlocking the secrets of the shelves, they find themselves transported to a world of wonder… where nothing is as it seems.

I received 7 ARCs this week and the one library book listed under current read. 2 of the fantasies are book 2 in their series, so I’m particularly excited to read them. The top 3 mystery/thrillers should still be Read Now today (St. Martin’s Press).

What are you reading? Do you love it?

Can’t wait to see what you think of The Lost Bookshop!

It does sound intriguing, doesn’t it?

I’m still reading The sisters of sea view which I’ll finish tomorrow. I need to read The Art of Prophecy first. I hope enjoy the sequel.

I think I will. Art of Prophesy was very good.

Glad you gave into the hype for Fourth Wing haha! I can’t wait to read your review.

I give in with so few hyped books but how could I ever resist dragons? I’m loving it!

The Lost Bookshop sounds so intriguing and such a good read, I’ll look out for your review of this one – I hope you enjoy it. 🙂

It does, doesn’t it? I couldn’t pass it up.

I’m chuckling at you reading a story with a love triangle😏 This trope tops my list of “unfavorites” so I’m intrigued. Thanks for the heads up on the new Morrissey book, which I’ll add. And, The Lost Bookshop got my attention…setting, description and a bookstore. Can’t wait to read your review.

    Great haul, Tessa💜

The Lost Bookshop is very intriguing. I can’t wait to see how the story plays out. And the triangle really isn’t a triangle – at least not yet – unrequited teen crush vs full blown romance does not make for a triangle in my mind.

I’ve had too many people recommend Fourth Wing to ignore it – and I’m a sucker for dragons. I received the widget for The Art of Destiny (the length is making me hesitate), but I somehow missed the Mike Chen book.

I was doing a rare looking around on NetGalley and requested it. It didn’t take too long to get an approval.

Normally, fantasy isn’t a genre I usually read, but I keep hearing everyone talking about Fourth Wing. I have to say I kind of want to read it now just to see what all the hype is about, lol.

I am almost done reading Rock Paper Scissors by Alice Feeney.

    1. Tessa Pulyer Avatar

That’s my favorite Alice Feeney book!!!

      1. Jodi Fisher Avatar

I just finished the book this morning! So good! Definitely can’t wait to read more of her books in the future!

        1. Tessa Pulyer Avatar

Have you read His and Hers? If not, that needs to be your next Alice Feeney read

          1. Jodi Fisher Avatar

I haven’t read that book yet, but I do have it, lol.

  9. Julie Anna's Books Avatar

I’ve given into the hype with Fourth Wing too – my hold just came through with the library too!

    1. Tessa Pulyer Avatar

We are two peas in the same pod 😂 Hope you find it lives up to the hype too. It’s got Hunger Games vibes and great dragons.

  10. Mani Avatar

I’m waiting for my hold on Fourth Wing to come in at library, I too was drawn in by the mention of dragons 😂. Hyped books are so hit and miss with me, so I am glad to hear you enjoyed it!!
