Do you read anything specific in the fall?

My Answer:
I always think about it. I don’t read horror books usually but I do love witchy books from a variety of genres and, of course, I love my thrillers which could also be seasonal. But (and it’s a big but) I’m always digging my way out of my ARC pile, so that still dictates what I’m reading.

It’s been such a busy week! My lovely daughter #1 went to Disney World with a friend, and I got to help them work out problems via text. That’s always fun and effective! But the good part was that she stopped by and spent the night on her way back. You all know that I always love any time with my girls.
At work, I’m helping plan a fundraising event. We haven’t had one in over a year and there is a new person in charge of them, so we are muddling through it together. 😂. The food pantry, which is one of the resources we have for people in our community who are struggling, has seen a more than double increase in the number of people who came to us for help with food and toiletries recently. I believe it went from around 250 to over 500 individuals, so we really need to work on fundraising for those changing needs. I think we all know groceries have increased significantly but it didn’t really hit home to me until I saw those numbers.

Well done on the fundraising event 💜 I do read horror but I don’t especially read them at a certain time of year 😊
The fund raising event will be a lot of fun I think. I hope we have a good turnout 💕
I read horror all year round, but I do tend to pick up more spooky, witchy or just generally moody books this time of year, ‘t is the season 🎃👻😄
It just seems right to read books like that this time of year. I guess because the atmosphere is there 💕
I have read more spooky books at this time of year in the past, but I’m not really in the mood for it this year. Good luck with the fundraiser, hope you have fun and that you manage to raise lots of money!
I don’t read anything specific! I usually have arcs to read so its always by accident if it fits the season haha.
The only season/holiday that changes my reading choices is Christmas. Like you, I’m continually plowing through my audio obligations!
Glad you got to spend some time with daughter #1! About the food pantry, I’m hearing this increase in need throughout the country. Best of luck with your event and hope you raise lots of money💜
I would love to take my granddaughter to Disneyland, but when she is old enough to appreciate the trip.
Come October, I usually look for something with a supernatural or spooky slant, but that’s about the extent of any change to my fall reading.
It sounds like you had an enjoyable time with your daughter. Good for you!
I hope the fundraising event goes well. Those numbers you shared regarding the food pantry are sobering.
I don’t care which season it is as long as I’m enjoying the book but yes I enjoy witchy books and love recommendations I get in this season. Good luck with event and fundraising 🙂
I’d love to do re-reads of my favorite horror books, but I’m also trying to dig my way out of ARCs. Good luck with the fundraiser, Tessa – our church has also seen an increased need with our food pantry.
