Top Ten Tuesday | Books I Meant to Read in 2023 but Didn’t Get To

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Today’s Top Ten Tuesday is my top ten books I meant to read in 2023 but didn’t get to. I only get 10? But there are so many more!

I picked ten physical books out of the bunch. The top row is books I bought but didn’t get a chance to read, and the bottom row is ones that were sent to me by publishers that I never got a chance to read (and wanted to). The top is mostly fantasy (minus Emily Henry), and the bottom row is mostly mystery/thrillers (minus the Colleen Oakley book)

  1. Happy Place by Emily Henry
  2. House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas
  3. House of Sky and Breath by Sarah J Maas
  4. Hell Bent by Leigh Bardugo
  5. Sword Catcher by Cassandra Clare
  6. The Mostly True Story of Tanner and Louise by Colleeen Oakley
  7. Payback in Death by JD Robb (Nora Roberts)
  8. Harlem After Midnight by Louise Hare
  9. City of Betrayal by Victoria Thompson
  10. The Last Russian Doll by Kristen Loesch

What’s a book you meant to read in 2023 but didn’t get to?

I haven’t read any of those, Tessa, but much to love in there. Maas’s covers are amazing. Wowza. Those alone make me want to dive into her books. 🙂

I’ve heard this series is excellent but so many people.

I have too. It’s just a big commitment, so I’m waiting for the right time.
