Today’s Top Ten Tuesday is my top ten books by new-to-me authors I discovered in 2023. StoryGraph is nice enough to keep track of information like this and report it in the end-of-year summary, so I know that I read 122 new authors last year. I’m pretty proud of that and love NetGalley and Instagram influencers programs just for that reason.
I listed 10 of the new authors that I definitely want to read more by (and is some cases I already have).

- Jesse Q Sutanto
- Ali Hazelwood
- Katherine Center
- Megan Miranda
- Leigh Bardugo
- Samantha Young
- Rebecca Yarros
- James J. Butcher
- Jessica Parra
- Gwenda Bond

great list! Can’t wait to read those Ali Hazelwood and Leigh Bardugo books.
They both are excellent!

I only read Fourth Wing/ Iron Flame by Yarros. Are her romance books any good?
We have one in common: I discovered Rebecca Yarros last year too and I definitely want to continue the Empyrian series. I know Leigh Bardugo from a short story in an anthology and I’ve been wanting to read her books for years but still haven’t 🙈
I really like Ninth House and have Hell Bent just haven’t gotten to it.
All those books look brilliant. I am so in awe of how many books you read.
I’m a bit horrified by how many 😂
Discovering new authors is one of my favourite things about NG as I’ve discovered so many through the site.
Mine too!
I loved The Body Guard by Katherine Center and have Hello Stranger to get to this year, plus her new one that’s coming this year as well!
I’m looking forward to the Rom-Commers!
Once I get around to reading their books, Bond, Yarros, and Butcher will be new to me. 122 is impressive, Tessa!
They are all so good!!!! More than good 😊
Impressive list, Tessa💜 I recognize quite a few I’d read before last year. But Katherine Center was new to me last year, too. Josie Silver, A. R. Torre and Jacqueline Firkins would make my list.
That’s a wonderful list of new to me authors!
Yarros has made the list for a lot of people!
Fourth Wing made her name so commonly known now.
Yes it did!
Yarros appeared on so many lists today 😂 I enjoy Center’s books and I adore that cover for Parra’s book. It looks so fun! I hope you discover many new amazing authors in 2024, Tessa!
Parra is such a good writer. I have her next book too. And Yarros and Center are beyond good ❤️
Megan Miranda was new to me, too. She’s on my Kindle, and I need to give James J. Butcher a try.
I highly recommend Butcher!
I hope you continue to enjoy reading these authors in 2024!

Always!
I love Ali Hazelwood, Katherine Center, Leigh Bardugo, Samantha Young, and Rebecca Yarros. Great authors!
I now love them too! Samantha Young probably was the biggest surprise to me of that list.
Samantha Young is fabulous! Love her Dublin Street series.
This is such a great list!!! Yarros made my list today! I love Center and Hazelwood but I cannot keep up with Hazelwood. haha!
I know – I’ve read three other books by her already. Crazy!
I really like Miranda’s books, although THE ONLY SURVIVERS is actually my least favorite book of hers. I really liked her newest one that’s coming out this year, DAUGHTER OF MINE. Glad you found Miranda and all these others!
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!
