Today’s Top Ten Tuesday is Weird or Funny Things I’ve Googled Thanks to a Book. I don’t know how weird or funny each is but I often look up something when I’m reading and below is a list that I remember looking up when I read ten recent books. If you can identify the book based on what I looked up, please feel free to do that in the comments – let’s make a game out of it!

- The mating habits of wolves
- The meaning of the word dross
- BitCoin
- Selkie Wives
- Location of Jakarta
- Goddard Space Flight Center
- Episiotomy recovery
- Small towns in Alaska
- A Binder Program (for holding personal information to take to the police)
- Emily Dickinson poetry

Possible answers (I put extras, obviously):

- The Atlas Maneuver by Steve Berry
- A Haunting in the Arctic by C. J. Cooke
- Bride by Ali Hazelwood
- Village in the Dark by Iris Yamashita
- Three Kinds of Lucky by Kim Harrison
- The Fortune Seller by Rachel Kapelke-Dale
- Till There Was You by Lindsay Hameroff
- Heartless Hunter by Kristen Ciccarelli
- Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice by Elle Cosimano
- Murder Road by Simone St. James
- Bey, Baby by Carola Lovering
- The Good, The Bad, and the Aunties by Jesse Q. Sutanto
- Rules for Rule Breaking by Talie Tucker
- I Heard A Fly Buzz by Amanda Flower
- If I Go Missing by Leslie Wolf

What’s a weird or funny thing you’ve Googled thanks to a book?

Ooh, fun! I’ve only read one of these (with several others on my list) and that must be the one that had you looking up selkie wives: A Haunting in the Arctic. It had me looking up Svalbard 😄
I don’t remember all specifics but I definitely googled many places and also mentions of some food and traditions and such things.
Fab list! I don’t know if I look up weird or funny things, but I definitely Google a lot when I’m listening to the Rivers of London series.
Well aren’t you imaginative!!! Love your spin on this, Tessa💜
Selkie wives – A Haunting in the Arctic. I remember that one.
I don’t think I google anything lol, maybe a couple names here at there but that’s about it and I can’t remember them!
#7 made me cringe and I can’t even figure out which book it was from!
When I was reading the Insanity series by Cameron Jace, I had to look up the Festival of Cats in Ypres Belgium and the history of tossing cats out of windows
I haven’t read any of these so I can’t even begin to guess. But that was a fun list of items.

Fab list Tessa! I think the funniest from my post was if Amazon would accept the word ‘horny’ in a review 🤣🤣
Off the top of my head, I can’t think of anything, but I KNOW I’ve Googled more than once thanks to a book I was reading.
I’m curious about which Google topic connects with Murder Road, since I bought that one 🙂
Are you going to give us the right answers? I know the Emily Dickinson one as I also used that one, but a different book in the series. Great twist, Tessa.
Perhaps the strangest thing I’ve Googled is “paparazzi” to find out if it was in use when the book takes place. I was right! The book takes place in 1958 but the word wasn’t coined until 1960 through a film by Federico Fellini, but only really came into popular use during the life of Princess Diana! By the way, how do you make these beautiful graphics? They’re just stunning!
The only book I read on your list was Bride, so I’m guessing that goes with #1 the mating habits of wolves. This is a fun list. I don’t have anything that I’ve Googled lately because of a book. I tend to do it more because of movies or tv shows.
I don’t google as much as I probably should. haha. ouch to #7… oof!! I don’t even want to know. lol
