Just Life
The week before last, I just disappeared because we finally went on that cruise I’ve been talking about. I was very happy with my choice of cruise lines – Celebrity. If you are in a suite (no matter the size), you get to take advantage of special areas called “The Retreat” and it was so nice. Totally comfortable and relaxing. We had our own little deck area off of our room, and we spent much time out there.
My favorite destination was definitely St. Thomas. The person who led our excursion was a native of St. Thomas and he totally made our day a unique experience in all the best ways. I think I could have easily spent another week there.
My gluten-free needs are always an anxious aspect of any trip we take, but I didn’t have to worry. There were plenty of gluten-free options, even at The Retreat lounge where they put out different snacks throughout the day.
We had a wonderful trip!

So, that was my week – how was yours?

Books in my Mailbox and Inbox
While I was on vacation, I received a surprising email telling me that I have been given NetGalley auto-approval from HTP books (Harlequin Trade Publishers, which includes Mira and Park Row with all their wonderful thrillers among other imprints.) Talk about candy store experiences! I was accepted into their new influencer program called The Hive and with that comes auto-approval to all their books on NetGalley😰. I’m going to have to have so much will power! There’s a lot of books here but it has been 3 weeks. But boy, there’s a lot of books! I tried to organize them by genre to make it a little easier.

What I Was Watching
Being away and then trying to get back in the swing of things meant there wasn’t a lot of time to watch anything. I either read or watched Two Broke Girls on the airplane and being out the country meant access to streaming was limited plus we tended to go out on our deck and watch the Caribbean rather than what was on TV. But we have started watching the new season of Amazing Race and like every year at this time – March Madness (college basketball championships) is something that holds our attention.

The cruise looks like it was a blast! And that auto-approval has to be the cherry on top. I would have ZERO willpower with them. The Book Swap and One Big Happy Family look great, though, so I might still have to put a couple of requests in…
Your cruise looks amazing and the auto approval must be really exciting. I hope you enjoy all of your new books. I’m very jealous of you getting an actual copy of Empire of the Damned
I haven’t been on a cruise, but I imagine I’d want to spend a lot of time on a private balcony or deck for peace and quiet to enjoy the ocean. It’s been a while since I’ve been to the Caribbean. Loved St. Martin. Have a good week.

Your trip looks like it was amazing! I loved St. Thomas when we went, it’s a must! So beautiful. Congrats on becoming an auto-approval! It’s one of my next goals. haha. I’m not even sure who I want it to be with but someone cool. LOL. Although, maybe it would be better if it’s when Finn is in Kindergarten and full days! Have a great week, Tessa!
Welcome back, Tessa💜 I’ve enjoyed living your vacay vicariously 😏
Congrats on the publisher approval and, yes, you’re gonna have to figure out how to restrain yourself. That’s quite the book haul with so much to love. I just finished the What Cannot Be Said and it was excellent. Have a great week!

I read The Perfect Sister, and will probably post a review on my blog. I already did on GR and Bookbub. I’ll be curious to see what you think.
Looks like you had a fabulous trip, Tessa – beautiful pics! And what a lot of books you had waiting when you got home. Happy Reading!
Look like you had great time on cruise. I also got jackpot summer in my inbox. I don’t want auto approval for long time as I stopped surfing NetGalley ages ago
[…] to Tessa @ Tessa Talks Books for featuring this in her Sunday Post as part of her massive book haul. It’s a library audiobook […]
I’m so glad you had a wonderful time on your cruise. I absolutely loved Celebrity cruise line and will definitely sail with them again. You got some amazing books here, Tessa. Congratulations on the auto-approval with HTP. I love their books.
