Just Life

I had a fast week, which is bad and good. On Thursday, we got to go to a baseball game downtown and watch it from my husband’s company’s suite, which is always fun. I, of course, brought a book with me 😊

I did get my Peloton bike and a new comfier seat for it. The seat made all the difference, but I realized I was going to break my neck using the bike shoes. Just getting from the couch to the bike on the laminate floors was very tricky. Who am I kidding – getting off the couch with slippery shoes was very tricky – and getting my right leg over the bike without losing traction on the left foot was nearly impossible. So I ordered a converter for the pedals so I could wear normal tennis shows. As I’m typing this, I am waiting for them to arrive. I did do one exercise class though, and liked it.

So, that was my week – how was yours?

Books in my Mailbox and Inbox

You know how people go on book buying bans? Well, I’m putting myself on a NetGalley widget ban. I currently have enough books to easily last me to the end of the year. And I want to enjoy them – they all sound so good!

In my inbox:

Lots, but I politely ignored them.

In my mailbox:

The paperback version of Thieves Gambit was in my pile last week but everything else is new.

What I Was Watching

What kind of Bravo fan would I be if I didn’t watch a RHOBH husband’s show? It’s interesting this season because it explored the breakdown of the Urbanski’s marriage from a different perspective. And I always enjoy seeing beautiful homes 😍

Great idea taking a book to the game, never would’ve thought about that! When I got overwhelmed with my NetGalley shelf I unsubscribed from the emails, and really helped with all the bookish temptation.

Did that stop the direct emails to you from publishers? Because that’s where my temptation comes from.

It might have done as my inbox was very quiet until I signed up again recently. 🤔

Ooh, lots of book mail is always fun 😍 I’m curious about Rowell’s book. Keen to see what you’ll think of it. I’ve also always been curious about Peloton bikes. I don’t generally like biking but it looks so fun to use as well. I hope your new shoes come soon and you have a great week ahead 🙂

I think the Peloton is fun and I’m not a biker either. So far anyway – we’ll see how long it lasts 🤣

I am also on an arc ban, I need to read my tbr so decided from June until the end of the year I’m going to do that!!!

I don’t know how else to do it. It’s just so much!

It is good to have the exercise, not sure I could ride a bike it has been so long. My decking has finally gone. We had it replaced with paving slabs and they look fabulous.

Lovely! I think paving slabs look so nice! 😍

I am looking forward to your review of Christa Comes Out of Her Shell. It looks so good!

Kudos to you for ignoring your inbox for a bit and enjoying what you’ve already got. Taking a book to a baseball game makes perfect sense! I’ve been to a live game and there’s so much inactivity. Best of both worlds. Love that you got those two Hepworth books, too.

    Happy reading💜

I’m always in the same boat with too many books! I’m trying to limit them too.

    😄 they do look lovely.

I also take books to sporting events, lol. I received several widgets recently, but it looks like I’ll only download one of the books. Not of the descriptions really grabbed me, so that’s a good thing for my shelf.

I don’t go to sporting events, but if I did I’d definitely take a book.

I’ve always wanted either an exercise bike or treadmill because I think I could use them and read at the same time.

Wishing you a happy reading week

Netgalley can be so dangerous sometimes, ahaha. Good luck with the ban!

I’m rarely interested in watching games so I would also bring book, it’s good way to catch up with reading. Looks like you have more interesting books added to shelf. getting more widgets and ignoring them is hard. I have ignored many this year and still I find myself adding more!

You have Slow Dance! Quite jealous, haha … I’m rediscovering Rainbow Rowell, and it’s such a good feeling. 🙂

Yeah, I can’t see myself using bike shoes either, on any kind of bike. Hope you get to enjoy your Peloton soon. We started watching The Gentlemen on Netflix. I’m waiting for Bridgerton to start.
