Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Was Super Excited to Get My Hands on but Still Haven’t Read

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Today’s Top Ten Tuesday is “Books I Was Super Excited to Get My Hands on but Still Haven’t Read” – Just 10? There are so many that it makes me sad to even think about it. I chose the ones I keep in my cart because I keep hoping to get to them soon-ish. What’s the expression? “Hope breeds eternal” ? I was wondering recently why the number of fantasy books I’ve read this year was so low – well, I’m guessing because they are all on this list!

  1. Crescent City (book 1) by Sarah J. Maas
  2. Crescent City (book 2) by Sarah J. Maas
  3. Crescent City (book 3) by Sarah J. Maas
  4. Empire of the Damned by Jay Kristoff
  5. Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff
  6. The Olympian Affair by Jim Butcher
  7. Sword Catcher by Cassandra Claire
  8. Ruthless Vows by Rebecca Ross
  9. A Fate Inked in Blood by Danielle Jensen
  10. The Familiar by Leigh Bardugo

What’s an author you’d love a new book from?

I’m always happy to have a new book from Jodi Taylor. There is one coming out next week.

Please read Ruthless Vows! I usually hate books where the main couple’s separated for a big chunk of it, but I loved how the author handled that here. 🥺 A Fate Inked in Blood and The Familiar were both, unfortunately, huge disappointments for me…

Indeed, hope breeds eternal, haha! These Maas and Kristoff books are still on my TBR as well even though I pre-ordered both of the first books in these series 🤭 I hope you enjoy all of these whenever you get to them, Tessa!

I’ve read so many of these!! CC and Empire are such great books but chunky!!! I hope you get t some soon! *cough* Crescent City *cough* haha 🙂

Crescent City is a WILD RIDE and I almost envy you the first dive in, haha … It’s not my fav SJM series, but it’s ridiculously convoluted and I continue to be in awe of her ability to piece together threads of stories.

I also need to read Fate Inked in Blood, and I keep getting tempted by Rebecca Ross, so… we’ll see what happens.

I’m embarrassed to admit, I have far too many Sarah J. Maas and Cassandra Claire books on my physical shelf left unread. I really need to get on it and read these books!

I hope you love these books when you read them!

    Have a great day!!

I was excited to preorder The Sun and the Star last year and even more excited when it arrived on my doorstep. So why is it still sitting on my bookshelf unread? I hope you enjoy reading all of these when you get the chance.
