As I’m typing this up, we are awaiting a winter storm that’s supposed to be imminent. We haven’t received snow in a few years, so everyone is very excited around here. My daughter, to my frustration, has no clear plan on how she’s going to get to work late at night and since she’s in Emergency communication – she has to be there 🤦‍♀️ Of course, I tried to get her thinking about this last weekend and throughout the week – doing my mom thing.

Update: we did get a winter storm but not much snow and frozen rain actually did away with most of it. My daughter made it to work safely and returned home in the early morning hours safely

Otherwise this past week was about getting back to normal. My oldest daughter returned (after being home for 3 weeks) to her apartment about 2.5 hours away. My youngest daughter finally took her Christmas gifts out of the family room and put them away. The house got thoroughly cleaned. And, I returned to work.

I also noticed that many of you have moved to Bluesky, so I checked in on my account there. I made it a while back and never did anything with it – but I can be found there – @tessatalksbooks.bsky.social . I’ve added it at the end of the page too.

And I found an interesting article on a case brought against Crave by Tracy Wolff for copyright infringement:

We got snow and ice; it was nice for a day, a week on it’s a pain in the arse 😂

I’m looking forward to reading Maddy and Beautiful Ugly this month, I hope they meet my expectations 🙂

      I hope they do too!

Those twittering platforms do to internet users what snacking is doing to compulsive eaters. The latter get obese while the first ones are getting brainrot.

      😂❤️

I’m in Western NC. We got about 3-5 inches, depending on who you talk to. Since I live on a gravel road there’s no road scraping. We will try to get out tomorrow

I hope you can. The temps have been so low 🥶. Be careful if you do get out!

There wasn’t much snow this week, just frozen windscreens.

      Sounds very cold 🥶

        Too cold💯

These are the kinds of snow storms I like. Not much accumulation and it’s pretty. Glad your daughter fared well getting to work. I just followed you on BlueSky as I abandoned Twitter some time ago. My account is still there but inactive.

We love Lincoln Lawyer and have watched the entire series several times😏 Have a great week, Tessa💜

Lincoln Lawyer is so good! Can’t wait until the next season.

I’m glad to hear that the snow storm didn’t end up being as bad as anticipated! I hope the weather remains decent for everyone in the week ahead! ✨ I didn’t know you were on Bluesky but I just added you on there. 😃 I’ve only read one book by Kate Alice Marshall and it was a very spooky YA horror but this new title has me intrigued. I hope you enjoy it and have a great week ahead!

I probably have an account on every social media platform 😂 I often check them out when I first hear about them. I’m looking forward to the Kate Alice Marshall book, for sure!

That’s a fascinating article about Crave and copyright infringement not just about the case but also for the details about Romantasy books generally

    1. Tessa Pulyer Avatar

I thought so too. The whole thing was interesting to me.

I’ve been thinking about Blue sky, will need to check it out more!

      Definitely!

I’m glad you’re all safe and sound and that the storm fizzled out. I just followed you on Bluesky. I like it so far – a kinder place. And thanks for the viewing suggestions. We’ve seen Lincoln Lawyer but will check out Alex Cross. 🙂 Have a great week.

The newest Alex Cross is so good. The actor playing him managed to capture all the complexities of the character and there’s so many!

      1. D. Wallace Peach Avatar

We started it based on your recommendation and I agree. So good. We’re bingeing. 🙂

We’re also fans of Lincoln Lawyer – just finished Season 3 last week. I’ve watched the first episode of Cross so far. I’ve been a fan of that actor since Leverage several years ago.

It’s great your daughter made it safely. We never get snow here but it has been colder this year. Wish you amazing week.

They got snow and ice at home, so glad I’m in Florida. It’s nice to have everyone home, but it’s nice to get back to normal too. I hope you enjoy those upcoming reads, Tessa. I loved Beautiful Ugly.

Unfortunately, we live in an area with mild winter weather. That makes us go north to Scandinavia every year to experience a real winter wonderland. We once had to live in Florida, but we could not stand the climate there, so we soon sold our house and left for Maine.
    Enjoy the winter
