We bought a new dryer right before Christmas and it finally was delivered this week. It’s pretty cool. It even has an AI setting where the dryer decides how long and at what temp by scanning the material of the clothes in it. I don’t know that I would trust it with delicates but it worked well for the other clothes.
What I Added to My Bookshelf:
I got a few YA books this week:
- a physical copy of Build a Girlfriend from the publisher so I can take a pretty picture of it
- The Creeping by Alexandra Sirowy (NetGalley widget)
- Ruthless by Carolyn Lee Adams (NetGalley widget)

What I’m Reading This Week:
This is the week that Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros comes out so you know what I’ll be reading starting Tuesday.
I tried A Killing Cold by Kate Alice Marshall this past weekend, but the animal triggers were too much. If the imagery of deer hunting et.al. had only been once or twice, I could have skimmed and been fine but by the fourth time in the first quarter of the book, I just gave up.
Next up, a new romcoms from Sophie Sullivan and then a Lisa Unger thriller.

What I’m Watching This Week:
We found an exciting Scify/Dystopian series that’s based on a book series called Wool. Silo is on Apple+ and we couldn’t stop watching even when we knew we had to get up early the next morning. I highly recommend!

I’m Talking about the Following Books This Month:

Your new dryer does sound strange, but it’s good that it works well.
Technological innovations are always interesting
Thanks for the heads up on the Unger book! Congrats on the new dryer. We bought a sensor dryer years ago and it works well on the delicates. Intrigued by the AI feature.
Nice haul and hope you enjoy everything. Know you’ll be immersed in Onyx Storm😏
The AI feature intrigues me. It does seem to work very well so far and shows me how bad off the old dryer actually was. The new dryer dries in half the time or possibly less than the old dryer did.
I loved Wool and the other books by Hugh Howey so I can imagine that a TV series would be excellent. Sadly we don’t have Apple+ and I’m certainly not looking to subscribe to anything extra at the moment. I’m definitely looking to Onyx Storm too.
Another show was done based on it called Fallout – on Prime, I think. I haven’t watched it but it looks good too.
Oh, I’ll have to look into that one.
That is clever, a drier, which decides for itself how to dry your clothes. Although I do worry with AI. Too many Terminator films lol. Our heating is not working. It is an easy fix, but we can’t contact the company till Monday.
I hope you’ve been able to stay warm!
Yes, a hot water bottle and lots of hot drinks. It is working now, box needed fresh batteries.
Ooo a fancy dryer! I’ve preordered Onyx Storm….but….I still haven’t read Iron Flame!
Now you sound like me with the Crescent City series 😂
goin tomorrow to by Witchcraft!
❤️❤️❤️
So jealous you got a widget for The Creeping. I saw that on Edelweiss and looked for it on NetGalley. I’m a big fan of Silo. Just finished season 2 this weekend. Have a great week, Tessa!
