Happy Sunday, bookish friends!

This week was a whirlwind, and I am exhausted. I worked almost every day, and let me tell you, I am feeling it. If anyone needs me today, I’ll be on the couch with a book, a blanket, and possibly an IV drip of caffeine. The one bright side? The weather has been in the 60s, which is a pretty big shift. It’s that weird in-between phase where you don’t know whether to wear a sweater or short sleeves, so naturally, I’ve just been layering like a confused but prepared southerner.

Book Haul & NetGalley Excitement

It was a quiet week for book mail, but I did receive one physical book from a publisher: Halo: Empty Throne by Jeremy Patenaude (thank you, Gallery Books!). While I’ve never been deep into the Halo universe, I’m intrigued by the lore, so we’ll see how this one goes.

On the NetGalley front, I couldn’t resist grabbing a few new reads:

📖 – Well, Actually by Mazey Eddings – I always love her fun, emotional rom-coms!

📖 – The Summer You Were Mine by Jill Francis – a summer romance with second-chance vibes? Yes, please!

📖 – The Palace of Sinners and Saints by Ammar Merchant – Thriller set in a 12th-century Middle Eastern castle? Say no more.

Current Reads

Right now, I’m juggling two books:

  • Back After This by Linda Holmes – I loved Evvie Drake Starts Over, so I have high hopes for this one!
  • I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I’m Trapped in a Rom-Com by Kimberly Lemming – With a title like that, how could I not pick this up?

What We’re Watching

When I haven’t been working or reading, I’ve been watching Traitors (the drama, the strategy, the betrayal – I’m obsessed) and Severance (which is absolutely messing with my brain in the best way). If you’ve seen either of these, tell me your thoughts because I have so many.

Looking Ahead

Hoping for a slightly less exhausting week ahead, with more time for reading and relaxing. Let me know what you’re reading, watching, or excited about this week!

Wishing you all a cozy Sunday!

A thriller in a 12th century castle? I can see why that grabbed your attention, Tessa.

The Palace of Sinners and Saints sounds intriguing. I don’t think I could resist “Abducted by Aliens, etc.” either!

Looks like you picked up some great reads. I agree that the title, “I Got Abducted by Aliens and Now I’m Trapped in a Rom-Com” is irresistible. Lol. And thanks for the “watching” recommendations, Tessa. We’re almost done with The Resident and will need a new fix. 🙂 Have a great week!
