Happy Sunday, friends! I hope your weekend has been filled with good reads, deep breaths, and zero pollen (a girl can dream, right?). Over here, spring has officially arrived in all its floral, sneezy glory. The trees are blooming, the birds are chirping, and my allergies have decided to stage a dramatic comeback. Cue the tissues and antihistamines.
Life Lately
We’re still on the hunt for that perfect investment property. It’s starting to feel like a very specific type of treasure hunt—except instead of a map, we have Zillow alerts, and instead of gold, we’re after decent plumbing and natural light. Fingers crossed!
This weekend, we went to a live show hosted by the hilarious duo behind the Watch What Crappens podcast. If you love Bravo chaos and side-splitting commentary, they are an absolute treat in person. I laughed so hard I may have temporarily forgotten about my seasonal suffering.

What We’re Watching
As for screen time, we’re wrapping up Severance (still reeling from every twist), finishing up Jack Reacher, and just started the newest season of Wheel of Time. So yes, we are all over the genre map—sci-fi, action, fantasy—and I’m loving every second of it. Each one scratches a different storytelling itch, and honestly, it’s been a great distraction from the whole breathing-through-one-nostril situation.
This Week’s Book Haul

Now for the fun part—books! This week’s stack is a mix of fantasy, romance, mystery, and just a dash of murder (you know, balance). I also snagged a digital ARC of Emily Henry’s upcoming Great Big Beautiful Life, and let me tell you, I screamed. Here’s everything I picked up:
1. One Death at a Time by Abbi Waxman
2. Love’s a Witch by Tricia O’Malley
3. The Deathless One by Emma Hamm
4. How Freaking Romantic by Emily Harding
5. The Late-Night Witches by Auralee Wallace
6. Soulgazer by Maggie Rapier
7. Realm of Thieves by Karina Halle
8. Cosmic Love at the Multiverse Hair Salon by Annie Mare
9. The Usual Desire to Kill by Camilla Barnes
10. Bridesmaid for Hire by Meghan Quinn
11. Bridesmaid Undercover by Meghan Quinn
12. Welcome to Murder Week by Karen Dukess
13. Proof by Jon Cowan
14. Our Last Vineyard Summer by Brooke Lea Foster
15. Beach House Rules by Kristy Woodson Harvey
16. Digital ARC: Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry
So many books! The publishers wanted me to have them all, I guess. ❤️ That’s my spring AND summer reading pile!
What are you reading (or watching!) this week? Let me know in the comments or over on Instagram—I’m always looking to add more chaos to my TBR pile.
Wishing you a peaceful Sunday and an allergy-friendly week ahead!

Antihistamines are my friend too these days 😅 Worth it, though, winter lasted long enough! Good luck with the property hunt and enjoy your new books ☺️
Totally! This time of year is the worst 🤧
Wow what a book haul, hope you enjoy them!
Me too!
You’ve been busy this week, hope the pollen count is low next week.
So busy lately. Hope you have a wonderful week!
Thank you, 🥰
Pollen allergy is so annoying, because it is positively correlated with nice weather! Good luck with the property hunting, finding the perfect property tends to be difficult.
It’s so cruel. When you want to open the windows and spend time outside, your body goes, “Not so fast”
The air was nice and clear up in Nairn for a few days!
❤️❤️❤️
That’s a brilliant book haul. Hope that your allergies improve this week. It’s such a shame when nice weather equals feeling miserable and unwell.
It totally is!
That’s a stunning book haul and I’m salivating over quite a few😏 Are you looking for beach property or something else. Thanks for the reminder about Reacher and hope it was another entertaining season. Enjoy your week, Tessa💜
Yes, we decided it make sense to buy a beach rental for the next 10ish years as an investment and then we can sell it (or keep it if the rate of investment is that good) before we buy the house we want to retire in.
That’s a great haul Tessa!
It’s a huge haul 🫣
sounds like a good week in life and reading. i would also like to get those Meghan Quinn books.
I’ve heard good things about them 🤞
I just finished the first season of Severance. If both sons hadn’t strongly encouraged me to keep going, I probably would have quit. It took me until episode 7 to get interested, but now I’m all in. And I don’t have to wait years for season 2! Hope the allergies give you a break, Tessa.
Hello Tessa, I am sorry to hear you have been suffering with your allergies. I am just getting over a rotten head-cold, which I hope will be the last for a while now spring has arrived here. I am currently reading Rilla of Ingleside by L.M. Montgomery and Praying Like Saints, Living Like Fools by Tyler Staton. While I am watching the new season of The White Lotus and just finished season 1 of Yellowstone. 😊
I wish you all the best with finding your dream investment home, I hope you feel better soon, and good luck with ALL those new books!
Blessings, Jessica 💌
You sound busy, Tessa. Sorry to hear about the allergies – I hope they aren’t too bad this year. Good luck in your real estate investment search. These are tricky times for some markets. Happy Watching and enjoy that book haul!
There’s no rush on the beach house. Kind of waiting for a few things (including the economy) before I actually make an offer. I wouldn’t mind if housing prices came down some more either 🤭
It’s so tempting, but feels risky right now for the hubby and I. I’ll be curious about how it works for you.
What a delightful Sunday update! Between battling spring allergies, hunting for the perfect investment property, and diving into an epic book haul, it sounds like a whirlwind of fun and productivity. That book stack is chef’s kiss—perfect for spring and summer escapes. Wishing you clear skies, clear sinuses, and plenty of cozy reading time!
