I think 2022 was a good bookish year for me. I continue struggling with “too many ARCs and not enough time to read them all” problem, but that’s more of a limit setting problem on my part.
I know some people who hold on to pre-approvals until they are ready to read the book. This may be the direction I have to go in. Especially as the nonprofit I work for still has not replaced my boss, which makes my normal reading schedule, which was already tight, simply impossible.
Bookish Stats
One thing I love about StoryGraph is, well…all the graphs they create for the user:

My Favorite Books in 2022
It’s very hard for me to pick a genre specific favorite (even though I did) but this year the overall favorite was clear.

You know I love a good graph 😄 Great wrap-up and here’s to another year of great books 🥂
I do know that! I’m sure I’ll be seeing yours soon ❤️ Cheers 🥂
I’ve finally managed to cut right back on arc books – in part because I’ve not even had the time to go on Netgalley and look for them! I also don’t have the motivation to write longer reviews either. I hope things ease up at work and you can find a new balance that works for you.
Me too! I need a new boss badly. Maybe I should have wished for that for Christmas 😊
An amazing year, and love your graphs, hope you have a great 2023 😊
You too! To all the good books coming our way🥂
I haven’t read as many books as I should have. I am nearly finished ‘Sleep’. I have my viewpoints on who the murderer could be. I have two suspects, both unlikely. My daughter has brought me some great looking books. Hopefully I will get to read them.
I hope you enjoy them!
Loving these graphs as they do tell the true story💜
They do, don’t they? I find them interesting to look at as a way to reflect back.
Okay I feel like I need to use StoryGraph now 😆 Glad you managed to read a lot this year, Book Lovers was definitely one of my fav romances too!
I like StoryGraph a lot and as a bonus, you can import your Goodreads data into it.
Love the pretty graphs. Net Galley is such an addictive sweet shop isn’t it? I keep telling myself that I’m not going to request any more books but then see something that I just have to read.
I haven’t requested anything in ages. I never realized how many preapprovals I was sent but it’s way more than I can read.
Nice stats (156 books!!) and nice graphs as well. I’ve been meaning to move over to Storygraph – don’t know how complicated it is to transfer data from Goodreads.
I found it to be very easy. I love that I didn’t have to start over.
Good to know!
No surprise thrillers is your top genre. I exceeded my Goodreads goal this year by a good bit, but I’m trying to slow down on requesting ARCs until I can get some of my own books read. Great year, Tessa!
You too ❤️
Oooh, I’m not familiar with Story Graph. I’m going to have to look into that. I really like the way it breaks out genres.
I normally track on Goodreads. You kicked butt with 156 reads. I think I’m around 107.
The Night Shift is on my TBR list. I have a lot of catching up to do!
You can even download your Goodreads data into StoryGraph, so you don’t have to start over. I like that little perk.
Fantastic to know. Thank you!
You had an amazing year Tessa! I’m just putting my post together of stats and am using Storygraph too!
I’m glad you finally got it up and running with your Goodreads data!
What an amazing reading year Tessa!! Here’s to hoping 2023 is just as great!! 🥂❤️
Cheers to that 🥂
You had such a great reading year, Tessa! And I love the Story Graph graphs. That’s one thing I wish Goodreads had more of.
I agree. At least you can download your Goodreads data into StoryGraph. That’s a definite perk.
Lessons in Chemistry was my favorite for 2022. Book Lovers didn’t quite make my favorites of 2022 list, but it’s not far behind the others! I love your graphs and charts!
Thank you! 2022 was an excellent reading year.
Ooh, I just saw Ordinary Monsters going for 99p on Kindle the other day. Makes me want to go back and check it out now! 😂 I’m so excited to see Lessons in Chemistry on here because I’ll be reading that in 2023 for sure as it’s part of one of my reading challenges. I’ve also seen so much love for Emily Henry’s books although I haven’t read any of them yet but I can’t wait to give them a try! I hope you have an amazing year of reading in 2023, Tessa!
You too!
[…] I’m thinking I should have held off on yesterday’s post until today, but I guess that’s what I get for waiting til the last minute to look at this week’s question. If you want to see my reading stats for 2022, you can see my post here. […]
I always enjoy seeing end of the year graphs. I still need to write my end of the year post.
I look forward to seeing it 😊
Looks like a great reading year! We have the same overall favorite book of 2022. I loved Lessons in Chemistry!
It’s a wonderful book 😊
I love those graphs! Going to check them out. Lessons in Chemistry made my Top Ten for sure. I didn’t name an overall favorite.
It’s such a wonderful book 😊
Those are great graphs and it looks like you had a very productive reading year. I also loved Lessons in Chemistry and Book Lovers. Happy New Year!
They are wonderful books 😊
