My thoughts:
Hunt on Dark Waters by Katee Robert is a romantasy that took me on the wildest ride I ever had. It’s filled with so much variety of everything that I thought my brain would never be able to keep it all straight. And steamy – it gets all the hot pepper emojis!
What I liked about this story and what truly kept me reading is the main character, Evelyn. She’s over-the-top and totally reckless, but she has a heart that can see through all the bs the world has to offer, and she will champion what is right even and especially when it’s hard. I even liked the pairing of her and Bowen because they each had something that the other lacked.
The story had everything I’ve ever loved in a fantasy story – pirates, witches, magic, portals, and even dragons!!!! Yes, I said dragons! The land of Threshold is full of portals to other realms, and as such, aspects of each of those realms can be found in Threshold – which makes meeting all my fantasy loves entirely possible. But it also makes it wild and crazy and sometimes hard to absorb.
