Book Review: Bridesmaid for Hire by Meghan Quinn

Looking for a romantic comedy that will have you laughing, swooning, and maybe even spiraling in a wedding bathroom with secondhand embarrassment? (Just me? Okay.) Let me introduce you to Bridesmaid for Hire by Meghan Quinn—a feel-good enemies-to-lovers romp with all the charm, chaos, and chemistry you could ask for.

The Setup

Maggie is a bridesmaid-for-hire (yes, that’s a real job in this book and honestly? Genius), and Brody is the slightly grumpy, very hot best man with zero time for wedding drama. When the two are roped into a fake-dating scheme to keep the peace during a high-stakes wedding week, sparks fly—and not always the romantic kind. But oh, do things get fun.

What I Loved

  • Enemies-to-Lovers Vibes: Maggie and Brody start off on very rocky footing (their first meeting is an awkward disaster I still giggle thinking about), but the banter? Perfection.
  • Fake Dating Shenanigans: From forced proximity to wedding disasters, every situation somehow manages to be both ridiculous and deeply relatable.
  • Dual POVs: I love being in both characters’ heads—it made their growing connection that much more satisfying.
  • The Humor: This book had me laughing out loud more times than I can count. It’s silly, it’s over the top, and it totally works.
  • The Chemistry: Even if you’re not into the spicy stuff, the tension and emotional payoff are more than enough. And yes, the steamy scenes are easy to skip without losing the thread of the story (which I personally appreciated).

What Didn’t Quite Hit

There were a few moments where the comedy dipped into too much for me—bordering on slapstick. But overall, the heart of the story shines through and kept me turning the pages.

Final Thoughts

Bridesmaid for Hire is a fun, fast-paced read that balances absurdity with authenticity. It’s perfect if you love rom-coms with fake dating, enemies-to-lovers dynamics, chaotic weddings, and the kind of banter that keeps a smile on your face.

Rating: 4 Stars

Grab this one when you’re in the mood for a lighthearted romance that doesn’t take itself too seriously—but still delivers all the feels.

The title sounds intriguing, I wonder did she find romance in the end.
