a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Reviewer
It’s been two weeks since I officially became a short-term rental (beach villa) homeowner (!!), and I finally feel like I can breathe a little. Don’t get me wrong—I’m still juggling a million little tasks, but I’m no longer in that mode where every five minutes is spoken for. The villa is starting to feel more settled, the systems are slowly falling into place, and I’m starting to think maybe—maybe—this dream might actually work out the way I hoped. Fingers crossed. 🤞
What I’ve Been Reading (recent reviews):

📚 What Kind of Paradise by Janelle Brown – I wasn’t sure this one would be my cup of tea, but wow did it pull me in. This is a beautifully character-driven story that explores family dynamics, the early days of the digital age, and the complicated relationships between parents and children. I adored the way Jane’s story unfolded—it was intimate, emotional, and quietly powerful. Five stars from me! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

🧡 The Other Side of Now by Paige Harbison – I devoured this book. It’s got all the good stuff: second chances, slow burn romance, found family vibes, and an Irish setting that practically breathes magic. I laughed, I teared up, I didn’t want to say goodbye to these characters. This was one of those rare books that made me feel everything. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

🔮 It Takes a Psychic by Jayne Castle – A fun, futuristic paranormal romance that’s got psychic powers, subterranean mysteries, and just the right amount of heat. The world of Harmony was so imaginative, and I liked Leona’s no-nonsense vibe. This one felt like classic Jayne Castle—quirky, adventurous, and just a little wild in the best way. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

🔪 Don’t Let Him In by Lisa Jewell – Classic Jewell vibes here: slow, subtle suspense with characters you don’t necessarily like, but have to keep reading about. Creepy, compelling, and psychologically fascinating. I tore through this one. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

🎸 He’s to Die For by Erin Dunn – A queer rom-com murder mystery that totally worked for me. Rav is a British detective with style and swagger, and Jack is the brooding rock star with a secret. Their chemistry was chef’s kiss, and the mental health rep felt thoughtful and authentic. Twisty, romantic, and super fun.⭐⭐⭐⭐

And this stunning picture above is my ever growing TBR stack(s) from publishers. I’m learning how to keep physical books straight and photographed in time for publication day.
What I’ve Been Watching:
🎬 Fountain of Youth (Apple TV+) – I watched this on a whim and ended up loving it! John Krasinski and Natalie Portman are such a fun duo, and the movie hit that sweet spot between heartfelt and whimsical. I won’t spoil anything, but if you like time-twisty stories with a magical flair, this is a good one to check out.
📺 Stick (Apple TV+ series) – I just started this one, but so far Owen Wilson is perfectly Owen Wilson in it. The premise is quirky, the vibe is chill, and I’m intrigued enough to keep watching. I’ll report back when I’ve seen more!
That’s it for this week! I’m hoping the upcoming days bring a little more downtime—and maybe even some beach reading if I’m lucky. How was your week? What have you been reading or watching?
